Family Medicine Physician
SUMMARY: Practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentialing and in accordance with the current standard of care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides medical care to Alabama Regional Medical Services’ adult, adolescent and/or pediatric patients, as qualified and in accordance with Alabama Regional Medical Services Primary Health Care Plan, Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
- Comply with the applicable requirements of HIPAA and Joint Commission.
- Physician will at all times perform Physician’s duties and function in strict conformance with currently approved practices and standards and in a competent and professional manner.
- Physician will maintain licensure to practice medicine in the State of Alabama and Controlled Substance registration certificate authorized by the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Obtaining and maintaining Medicare certification.
- Comply and participate with the quality and / or performance improvement plan.
- Remain current with all medical record requirements; including dating and timing of orders and progress notes.
- Review medical records as needed.
- Assist and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures as needed.
- Pursue other specific goals and objectives as outlined by the management.
- Collaborate closely with all members of the medical staff on clinical issues and measures to include completeness and accuracy.
- Attend, at agency expense, seminars and conferences as deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director, Chief Operating Officer or Chief Executive Officer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the techniques and practices of medicine
Knowledge of laboratory methods and techniques
Knowledge of the equipment and tools used in the field of medicine
Ability to conduct medical examinations
Ability to use equipment and techniques of the medical profession
Ability to supervisor and direct personnel in the delivery of medical care
Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports, and correspondence related to the work
Ability to communicate effectively with others
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an approved medical school or possess Standard Certificates as issued by the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates. Possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama issued by the state board. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Must have three or more years of clinical, hospital or private practice experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to organize, communicate effectively and knowledge of general corporate operations are a must.
