Shelter Manager
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Officer, the Shelter Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational needs of the Shelter, ensuring the completion of all program objectives, adherence to agency rules and regulations, and the safety and cleanliness of the Shelter at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
1. Oversees the Emergency Safe Shelter’s operational day-to-day activities including planning, and implementation of all program components; building operations and maintenance oversight; community monitoring; and all other Shelter activities.
2. Manages the Shelter supply through routine inventories, supply lists, and purchasing communications as appropriate.
3. Ensures new residents receive and understand program requirements, rules, and regulations.
4. Ensures all housekeeping is completed as needed.
5. Maintains knowledge of fire, safety, health, and work standards to ensure a safe and positive environment for all.
6. Provides emergency assistance to residents and co-workers as necessary.
7. Assess client needs and provide services in assigned service area including but not limited to the development of living skills – cooking, menu planning, household management, budgeting, general repairs list, vehicle maintenance list, as well as information, referral and advocacy.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files with required documentation.
9. Collect statistical data and submit required reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
10. Attend staff development training as indicated by supervision.
11. Cooperate with staff to carry out the designated responsibilities in the services of the goals and objectives of the Pee Dee Coalition.
12. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of household goods – bed linens, bath towels, personal hygiene supplies, as well as food and cooking supplies – all of which benefit the residents.
13. Completes the check-off list for resident arrivals and departures. Any notes are communicated to the Shelter Director and/or Executive Director. Complete maintenance request form to address any damages or repairs.
14. Routinely walk the property both interior and exterior to analyze the appearance and maintenance of the Shelter. Any concerns requiring attention will be brought to the attention of the Shelter Director.
Program Oversight
1. Ensures agency programs are available to eligible people regardless of religious belief or affiliation, race, color, national origin, handicap, or sexual orientation.
2. Updates approved forms and manuals as directed.
3. Directs available resources in accordance with established guidance, policies and procedures, and goals and objectives.
4. Maintains up-to-date local and regional resource information and disseminates it to staff as appropriate.
5. Role models positive, professional behavior including through appearance and communication with others.
6. Recognizes and performs the duties of a mandated reporter as outlined in federal, state, and local regulations as appropriate.
7. Supports community engagement and collaboration by developing relationships with other service providers including but not limited to mental health, medical, the County, and other vendors.
8. Maintains an updated resource binder outlining all pertinent mental health, medical, housing, employment, and other resources.
9. Ensures confidentiality and data privacy standards are met or exceeded at all times.
10. Supervises all Shelter day-to-day staffing activities including, training and development, scheduling, and oversight.
11. Facilitates Shelter related orientations and trainings.
Qualifications
1. Ability to interact well with diverse people, organizations or groups.
2. Possession of leadership, organization and interpersonal skills.
3. Knowledge of Socio/cultural dynamics of domestic violence and human trafficking victimization.
4. Knowledge of community resources for residents.
5. Skilled in accurate data entry.
6. Successful completion of PDC volunteer training program and continued CEU yearly.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field.
