The Senior Manager, Communications & Community Engagement works in collaboration with senior leaders across the organization to deliver impactful communication plans for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.  The Senior Manager, Communications and Community Engagement will develop and implement the community involvement strategy including partnerships, sponsorships, and participation in community events with a strong focus on maximizing Cambrian’s impact in the community.

In the role of Senior Manager, Communications & Community Engagement, you will:

  • Create and deliver internal and external communications including memos, employee communications, presentations, videos, scripts, in-branch printed materials (brochures, signage), press releases, website copy, etc. Establish communication plans that sequence a variety of communication tools to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Lead Cambrian’s Community Engagement activities, including partnerships, sponsorships and donations.  Create opportunities for employee participation in community events, increasing engagement and furthering our efforts as a community based financial institution.
  • Lead Cambrian’s social media presence, including the development of an annual social media plan and creation of content highlighting employee and community engagement.
  • Lead Cambrian’s commitment to increasing financial literacy in our community. Identify and act on opportunities to promote and develop financial literacy for all stakeholders.
  • Build member engagement through strategies including direct member communications that increase knowledge, awareness and the overall financial wellbeing of members.
  • Lead the development and management of Cambrian’s intranet as both an internal communication tool and an information portal.
  • Provide planning, organization, and communication support to the Board of Directors including planning of the Annual General Meeting, the Annual Report, and the coordination of Director Elections.  Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and Cambrian bylaws.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of Cambrian’s brand including quality control and reputation management.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of a variety of employee events including Annual Long Service Awards and Performance Recognition events.

Your experience:

  • Minimum five years of communications experience in a corporate environment, with significant involvement in developing and delivering communications to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Creative Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to tailor and adapt impactful communications for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience in all forms and methods of communications including creative, video production, print production and social media.
  • Experience in the execution of projects related to community outreach and community programming.
  • Exceptional attention to detail including analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience providing leadership with the proven ability to influence others at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities
