Position Summary:

The Lone Mountain Land Company, with its headquarters in Big Sky, Montana is looking for a Director of Marketing to join the team. The Lone Mountain Land Company, LLC was formed by CrossHarbor Capital Partners to manage the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sale of premier real estate communities around Big Sky, Montana. The company supports world-class club operations at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and Moonlight Club and oversees real estate activities at Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin, Town Center, and other projects in the Big Sky region. LMLC also owns The Wilson Hotel, The Montage Big Sky and other, in-process, hotels and operations.

The marketing and communications division serves as a leader for the business on many fronts, yet functionally serves a support role towards supporting the success of the many operating companies which roll up to LMLC, the parent company. A successful candidate for the Director of Marketing position will bring contemporary marketing background, skills and experience, with a heavy emphasis on all facets of digital marketing and project management capabilities along with substantial analytical skills.  

 

S/he will have a track record of building and executing analytically based and data-driven marketing strategies and will also have experience working with premier-level brand(s), which maintain clearly defined brand platforms supported extensive creative assets and agencies.  The balance between working with creative/brands and analytics all within multiple media channels, is central to success.

  • Execute LMLC’s marketing communications plans which are developed for the multiple assets and operating companies associated with the company.
  • Refine and execute fully integrated and analytically based digital marketing strategy to support LMLC’s assets’ and operating companies’ fiscal and positioning objectives. This will include, but not be limited to executing customer profiling, targeting and conversion initiatives and campaigns which will include all expressions of marketing from printed collateral to onsite signage and from active use of the most contemporary CRM / DRM tools available to digital marketing campaigns which are informed by these same tools.
  • Develop a comprehensive inventory and management system for all facets of the company’s intellectual property assets, (e.g., marks/logos, photography, video, tradenames) as well as the company’s website URLs.
  • Partner with the Big Sky Real Estate division in development of marketing strategies and tactics which support their success towards selling the company’s real estate product(s).
  • Support all facets of marketing programs and initiatives for Moonlight Basin, and its subsidiaries, Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, The Wilson Hotel, Town Center and in development operating companies, such as Montage Hotels & Resorts.
  • Work with the company’s finance department so to help develop and analyze performance metrics and continually strive to improve the efficacy and results of all marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Establish annual targets and KPI’s for all direct reports, evaluate results on a continuing basis, establish individual accountability for team members success through the year, providing open and honest feedback and coaching.
  • Help manage agency/consulting partner(s) as needed on a per project basis, including running RFP process when necessary.
  • The Director of Marketing reports directly to the company’s Chief Marketing Officer.

 

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Marketing and Brand Management with proven track record of driving growth.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership position overseeing cross-functional work teams.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in director-level position and high competency in presenting in front of teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Deeply understands and has maintained substantial experience with digital marketing campaigns and assets, including having worked with social media, website development, SEO/M, PPC and CRM tools/platforms.  Able to integrate, on an ongoing basis, analytics associated with campaigns which informs and shapes the efficacy of all marketing efforts.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse teams within the marketing division and within the company.
  • Proven experience in project and department management, including responsibility for developing marketing plans, market forecasts, and budget management
  • Inspiring leader, communicator and influencer.
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with a willingness to be tactical and fully engaged in finite details.
  • Enjoys working in a casual and energetic work environment and applying strong work ethic.
  • Functions in the intersection of highly creative and organized process.
  • Grace under pressure and a comfort with certain levels of ambiguity.

 

Physical Demands:

     This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

     This is a full-time position. Normal hours of work at Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm, however, this position may require work outside of these hours.
