Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations in Sarnia, ON. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of products. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and well-organized warehouse, aligning operations with company policies, ISO standards, and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. This position requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Warehouse Operations & Process Improvement
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily warehouse activities to enhance efficiency and meet company objectives.
- Implement and maintain workflows to ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate inventory management, including cycle counts and risk analysis.
- Maintain warehouse organization for optimal space utilization and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and manage a yearly capital enhancement-replacement program to support growth and system improvement.
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure adherence to company quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Provide flexible coverage and actively support team operations by stepping in where needed to ensure seamless workflow and business continuity.
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide strong leadership to the warehouse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff while monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and collaborate with senior management on compensation and career development.
- Motivate and encourage teamwork to achieve quality and productivity objectives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all employees adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in and lead safety meetings, ensuring documentation and compliance with company standards.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
- Manage security, building maintenance, and seasonal landscaping needs, including snow removal.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with senior management and other departments to align warehouse operations with company goals.
- Coordinate with sales, logistics, and procurement teams to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Ensure smooth communication and coordination between warehouse operations and internal stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management, safety regulations, and logistics.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to operate and train staff on warehouse machinery, including forklifts, saws, and material-handling equipment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including on-call duties when required.
