We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations within a Skilled Nursing Facility undergoing operational and regulatory improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, permanent leadership role for a proven SNF Director of Nursing who is confident managing compliance, staffing stability, and quality performance.
The DON will work closely with the Administrator to strengthen clinical systems, ensure survey readiness, and rebuild accountability within the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all nursing operations within the Skilled Nursing Facility
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and CMS long-term care regulations
- Lead survey preparation and maintain continuous survey readiness
- Evaluate and improve clinical systems, documentation practices, and care processes
- Stabilize staffing, scheduling, and nursing department performance
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to unit managers and nursing supervisors
- Oversee infection control and participate in QAPI initiatives
- Maintain regulatory-compliant documentation standards
- Collaborate with Administration on quality metrics, census support, and labor management
- Participate in nursing department budget oversight and operational planning
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a Skilled Nursing Facility required
- Strong working knowledge of CMS regulations and long-term care compliance
- Demonstrated experience managing survey preparation and regulatory processes
- Proven ability to oversee staffing, improve accountability, and lead nursing teams
- Experience participating in quality improvement and performance initiatives within SNF
