We are looking for a key person to be part of the advancement of inventory and fulfillment process improvements. You will support inventory-related initiatives through effective maintenance of inventory planning, fulfillment processes and workflow for our customers including an online ordering portal.

 About the Role

  • Gather, compile, and interpret item information from multiple sources, evaluate it critically and reconcile conflicts
  • Maintain all inventory items in DB Distributor with accurate details, including pricing, specifications, graphics, order history, and item characteristics,
  • Identify items that are selected to be used on individual customer portals and make sure that the details are clear and accurate for uploading to the customer portal with graphics and relevant ordering information.
  • Maintain a daily portal status ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and that orders are being handled efficiently with no impact to customers.
  • Review and manage customer orders to ensure they are processed quickly and efficiently with the required processes being followed and with a Customer First priority meeting established SLA’s.
  • Reconcile all daily orders and ensure they are completed by reviewing the system status and obtaining confirmation from the warehouse and shipping areas, ensuring the system reflects accurate and current statuses with shipment tracking information.
  • Liaise with business users to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each item and how it is to be presented in the inventory system and customer portal.
  • Ensure inventory availability for assigned product portfolio in all warehouses through the accurate set-up of reorder points or lead times required to procure seasonal items.
  • Provide business process expertise to ensure solutions meet what is required and assist new customer implementations as required.
  • Respond to inventory inquiries from other areas as required in a timely fashion.
  • Work with software vendor and IT development team to assist in building a testing strategy to ensure hardware and software programs work as expected and provide suggestions for continual improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a test environment to effectively assess the system and/or application functionality prior to customer launch, maintain a test system to ensure that we have a robust internal option to see changes prior to launching customer sites.
  • Review and analyse system reports to identify obsolescence items and develop plan for disposition or destruction.
  • Ensure the entire ordering workflow is accurate, fully documented and pictorially depicted for efficient day to day functionality.
  • Create and maintain SOPs for the entire end to end system to be used as a training guide for new employees.
  • Participates in company audit schedules for financial reporting, as necessary.
  • Follows all existing company policies and procedures or recommend changes/additions to any policy that needs updating.

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management and/or Business Administration, or relative field
  • 5+ years of experience in Inventory Management and Supply Chain concepts and techniques, including; forecasting, product life cycle and purchase order function
  • Customer focused and clearly communicates
  • Ability to learn new systems (DB Distributor/EQ Commerce) quickly and become a subject matter expert related to the roles and responsibility of the job
  • Demonstrated administrative skills necessary to compile reports and prepare correspondence and analytics utilizing Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio)
  • Analytical, mathematical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to balance high volume workload and short timelines with an extraordinary attention to detail
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), sound problem-solving abilities and effective organizational skills
  • Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments
