Responsible for managing and maintaining RBT’s Wide Area Network with a focus on ensuring information security and optimal performance.  This includes day-to-day maintenance of operating systems including installation and proper function of hardware and software applications, establishing and maintaining the network users, user environment, directories and related physical/data/information security including backup and recovery. Manage the technology infrastructure at all Bank facilities ensuring security and performance as well as implement appropriate infrastructure at any new facilities.

Provides network troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose and resolve network problems, and coordinates resolution process with applicable external network service providers (ISP, Firewall/AV, WAN and Data communication vendors) and reviews and maintains appropriate logs.

Research and recommend changes to network architecture and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance and reliability relative to the evolving needs of the Bank including regulatory and legal compliance. Compiles supporting documentation to substantiate recommendation. 

Manages network security in accordance with Bank Policies and FFIEC recommendations by providing appropriate restrictions on access to resources and sensitive data, monitoring and remediation of logon failures, SIEM and other exception events, keeping systems current with malware protection and patch management ensuring proper records are maintained and reporting is conducted according to Policy. 

Evaluates all hardware and software additions for network compatibility. Ensures proper installation and required licensing as well as resolution of any performance issues.  Maintains the hardware/software inventory.  Documents initiation and results on Request for Technical Enhancement form. 

Administer Bank’s email system, telephone, and remote meeting systems including performance and security controls. 

Reviews and performs monthly internal and external network vulnerability testing, compiles compliance reports and implements corrective actions. 

Performs network disaster recovery exercise at least annually, and after any significant change, to ensure network connection and core transaction processing can be reestablished at the back-up site within the target time frame.  Provides testing results to Information Security Officer. 

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. 

Knowledge, understanding and compliance with all laws, government regulations, Bank and department policies and procedures related to the position.

Perform other duties as required. 

Physical Demands 

Manual dexterity, hearing, seeing, speaking, writing, walking, kneeling, and ability to travel to the branches. 

Basic Knowledge 

Working knowledge in a PC/LAN/WAN environment. Thorough understanding of server and PC hardware, network concepts at the logical and physical layers including telecommunications protocol, managed hubs/switches and Cisco router installation/configuration. Must be able to design and implement LAN/WAN configuration changes in a multi-server hybrid environment. Working knowledge of: Windows PC operating systems, Microsoft Servers including Active Directory, Group Policy Management, virtual servers running in a VMware environment with vSphere client, Novell Groupwise in a Linux virtual environment, Gwava ReLoad, SimpliVity Cubes with emphasis on disaster recovery, Dell AppAssure backup software, SQL software and database install and maintenance, cloud computing, and industry trends. 

Experience 

Five years systems experience developing network infrastructure and information security controls.  

Has completed industry related certification programs, (i.e. Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), Certified Data Privacy Solution Engineer (CDPSE), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Microsoft roll-based training certificates, Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator, SQL database management, CompTIA (A+, Cloud+, Security+), Novell CNA/CNE). 

Education

Bachelor degree in Information Technology preferred.

Independent Action 

Function under the direction of the IT Director to meet the Network/Systems technical requirements of the bank.  Refers unusual problems or situations to IT Director.

Supervisory Responsibility 

May supervise IT support employees
