We’re hiring a Retail Business Manager here at ArtsQuest to oversee total retail operations and identify the “next big thing” for our growing organization.


What you’ll do

Our Retail Business Manager will oversee and drive retail operations in the areas of merchandising, marketing, purchasing, inventory management, e-commerce, wholesale/consignment, and events, delivering complete customer satisfaction.

  • Manage all store front operations, marketing, and merchandising, including year-round brick and mortar, event based, and e-commerce driven retail outlets
  • Drive the building and growth of our e-commerce platform and consignment program
  • Collaborate with our marketing and public relations teams in the creation of merchandise-specific promotions
  • Assist our sponsorship, development, visual arts and glass, and finance departments with the design, sourcing, and purchasing of promotional products and items
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, train, and develop retail staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to develop new ideas for revenue generation in order to grow the business
  • Work side-by-side with the Sr. Director of Operations and Finance to develop annual retail budget for all components of retail operations

What you need to thrive in this role

  • 3+ years’ experience in retail operations & buying, scheduling, and management of staff
  • Associate degree or higher in Business Management or equivalent work experience
  • Experience leading a team required, experience in working with volunteers a plus
  • Experience creating or working with a budget and within budgetary constraints
  • Working knowledge of e-commerce/internet retailing and POS system experience, promotion, fulfillment, reporting, analysis, inventory control, and CRM
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with scheduling, time and attendance, and/or payroll software a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills in working as a team player and interacting with all levels of the organization to accomplish goals
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support business activities, festivals, and events
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to enable movement between all of our venues; ability to travel to other retail outlets throughout the greater Lehigh Valley and beyond.
