Director of Patient Financial Services
POSITION SUMMARY
Manages the Patient Financial Services team and revenue cycle management functions that include benefit verification, billing, accounts receivable management, collections, posting, reporting, developing processes, and training as systems are enhanced. Oversees and coordinates all revenue cycle activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner in compliance with federal, state and payer-specific billing requirements while optimizing patients’ financial experience as the utmost priority. Coordinates with the Electronic Medical Record platform and clinical superusers to ensure the billing processes support the delivery of clinical care.
EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Healthcare Financial Management Association Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred.
DUTIES
- Manages the claims submission process for third-party reimbursement and claims champions accounts receivable operations and coordinates with hospital Directors to achieve Center’s revenue cycle management goals
- Manages the collections, posting, refund, write-off and account reconciliation processes
- Ensures Self-pay accounts are resolved in accordance with Center’s policies
- Works with the CFO to maintain the Charge Master and Service Fee schedule
- Manages the Patient Financial experience: verification of insurance eligibility, provides financial counseling on Charity care, copays, coinsurance and financial assistance policies; reviews and approves Financial Assistance applications.
- Assists the CFO with the organization and maintenance of third-party payor contracts
