About Working on a “Floatel”
LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650 passenger “Floatel”. The Floatel will be permanently docked in Squamish, B.C. and is estimated to operate for up to three years. All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
Individuals who do not have the required marine safety certifications (see details below) will be required to attend a 5 – 10-day marine safety program. LandSea covers the costs of training, however, crew who do not complete minimum employment contracts are responsible to repay part of all the training costs.
Staff are provided with accommodation, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities. We have both long-term and short-term contacts. Shift schedules are between 10-12 hours (day or night) and are typically 20 days (about 3 weeks) on and 10 days (about 1 and a half weeks) off, depending on the location. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from camp locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months.
Key Responsibilities
As the Housekeeping Manager, with LandSea, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our vessel’s cleanliness, maintaining standards, and exceeding guest expectations in the staterooms as well as the public areas. Other responsibilities include training and coaching the housekeeping team, room inspections, as well as handling any customer service requests. The Housekeeping Manager pays exceptional attention to detail in our rooms as well as the public areas around the vessel. The Housekeeping Manager reports to the Hospitality Manager.
Responsibilities
Establish and monitor cleanliness standards of performance for all housekeepers
Coach and mentor housekeeping staff
Regularly clean, organize, sanitize, and maintain all areas of the vessel
Maintain a genuine concern for our guests by supporting their experience and satisfaction
Inventory supplies and place orders in a timely manner
Effective communication with all staff onboard
May perform bartending duties as needed with other management personnel
Ensures all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are followed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or business field (preferred but not required
Must have previous Housekeeping Management experience (preferably in a remote camp environment)
Three (3) years of relevant experience required
Team player who sets a positive example for others
Excellent guest service skills with the capability to handle guest concerns and escalate appropriately toward resolution
Ability to empower team to provide excellent customer service
Willingness to work long days, every day, for extended periods of time
Flexible schedule and willing to travel
Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time
Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
Use muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Use hands to handle objects and tools
Willingness to travel often
Certifications and other requirements
Domestic Vessel Safety Certification
SCTW Safety Training for personnel providing direct service to passengers in passenger spaces
Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice;
Excellent comprehension and command of the English language; (written & verbal);
Food Safety Certification (min level 1) (not required but an asset)

Valid Government Issued Identification
Must be able to provide own transportation to designated travel hub (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Prince George, Terrace etc.,)
Able to work night shift
Available to live and work on the vessel for multiple rotations including but not limited to 21-7, 2-2,4-2 etc.
Be able to provide at least 2 professional work references
Be able to provide photo identification (PDF of photo ID) to verify identity during virtual interview
