Shift Schedule
- Wednesday to Sunday Availability (2-4 shifts per week)
- 6:00 am to 3:00 pm shift
- Must be able to work General Holidays & Weekends
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Seasoning, cooking, and preparing high-quality food according to company recipes.
- Using personal judgement and experience in testing food to determine if it has been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing it with utensils.
- Using kitchen utensils such as knives, peelers, and graters to perform various food tasks.
- Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before and after each use.
- Accurately weighing, portioning, and/or measuring ingredients.
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen as needed in accordance with our cleaning standards.
- Using manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food.
- Regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
- Monitoring and estimating inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
- Assisting supervisor in planning and pricing current and future menu items.
- Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients and recording as Shrink at the end of each shift.
- Representing ICS both in and out of the store.
- Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
- Other duties as required.
While we are willing to train the right candidate, most of our employees have had some of the following:
Education
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of one-year experience in a cooking role.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image.
- Working independently with little direct supervision.
- Having a well-balanced concern for both tasks and people.
- Having a genuine concern for the needs of customers.
Working Conditions
- Job requires employees to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- At time the job also requires employees to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
- Occasionally work in coolers and freezers for short periods of time
- Occasional work in hot temperatures and work with hot equipment (stove, grill, etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Long periods of standing and walking
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Manual and repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
