Assistant Director of Housing
Energetic, passionate, easy-going, positive leader with proven management and leadership skills, looking to join a growing team working with our consumers with Autism and Developmental Delay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Assist in managing and maintaining a positive team of highly trained House Managers, Assistant House Managers, House Leads and Direct Service Providers who provide support, direction, and oversight to the interactions of the consumers we serve
- Ensuring a positive, innovative, person-centered environment
- Supports compliance with state, county, and local government regulations as well as organizational standards, policies, and procedures
- Assists in the new hire interview process
- Provides/coordinates in-service training
- Conducts meetings, evaluates staff, recommends staff promotions
- Ensures all consumers participate in community outings and enriching activities that nurture and encourage individual growth and independence
- Facilitates communication between families and various other community resources
- Prepares staff reports, oversees compliance with reporting
- Collaborates with members of multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrist, general physicians, behavioral therapist, and service coordinators to collect data and implement the most personalized and effective treatments
- Coordinates schedules for sites/fill open shifts at sites
- Serves as liaison and advocates for the staff
- Identifies potential problems and barriers, and provides solutions to the same
- Regularly supervises two or more employees in the department
- Supervision includes maintaining/supervising compliance with billing/data collection; apportioning work among employees; determining equipment and materials/supplies needed for the particular assignments; and determining compliance with company/DODD/COVID-19 protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or 3-5 years work experience in a leadership role
- Experience in Special Education and/or DD field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- At least two (2) year’s management experience
- Ability to think critically and creatively
- Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks
- Possess and maintain First Aid and CPR training (or willing to obtain)
- Pass and maintain all required Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) training offerings
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug test
- Possess and maintain a driving record with less than six (6) points
