Location: Lakota Family YMCA, 6703 Yankee Road, Liberty Township, OH 45044
Job Type: Part-Time
Reports to: Head Coach

The Lakota Family YMCA is seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Assistant Swim Coach to help foster a love for swimming while guiding youth athletes in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment. This is a great opportunity to grow professionally while making a positive impact on swimmers' development and confidence.

• Lead engaging and developmentally appropriate practices for age-group swimmers.

• Develop structured daily workouts and a season training plan.

• Provide swimmers with individual feedback on technique, training, and race strategies.

• Represent the team at swim meets, team events, and coaching meetings.

• Foster a safe, inclusive team culture that upholds YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

• Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and staff regarding performance and schedules.

• Adhere to and model all YMCA safety and conduct standards.

• Serve as a mentor and positive role model for all athletes.

• Minimum age: 18 years

• Must pass a YMCA-required background check

• Able to obtain or currently holds YMCA Swim Coach Certification

• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain:

  • Lifeguard Certification

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

  • First Aid Certification (training may be provided)

• Previous competitive swimming or coaching experience preferred

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Passion for working with youth and fostering growth in a team setting
