GENERAL SUMMARY:
The mission of Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is to create opportunity for under-resourced youth of the Greater Philadelphia Region to prosper in life. The intended impact is that participating youth will become Snider student-athletes with age-appropriate social-emotional strengths and skills to succeed and contribute as students, employees, and community members.
The Photography & Videography Program Assistant will help Snider achieve its mission by capturing, editing, and producing engaging photo and video content that inspires and engages all of Snider’s various stakeholder groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capture high-quality photos and videos using professional-grade equipment during Snider programming, special events, and other occasions
- Edit and post-process photos and videos using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with the Content Engagement team and other Snider departments to develop concepts and ideas for visual content that aligns with Snider’s brand and mission.
- Produce engaging short and long-form videos, incorporating storytelling techniques that resonate with stakeholders.
- Assist with managing and organizing Snider’s digital asset library, including photos, videos, and other visual content, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
- Assist in planning and executing photo and video shoots, including location scouting, equipment setup, and coordinating with involved parties.
- Support the Content Engagement team with other related tasks as needed, such as graphic design, content creation, or social media management.
- Uphold Snider’s visual brand identity and ensure consistent quality and style across all visual content produced.
- Meet project deadlines and manage time effectively to balance multiple assignments and priorities.
- Travel within the Greater Philadelphia area is required.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) is required. A degree or relevant coursework in photography, videography, media production, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in photography and videography techniques, with a strong portfolio.
- Solid knowledge of professional grade photography and videography equipment.
- Experience in editing and post-processing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc.).
- Understanding of storytelling principles and the ability to translate concepts and ideas into visually compelling content.
- Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and software is a plus.
- Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass the PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

INTELLECTUAL AND SOCIAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. The position requires constant attention to precise details and specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than three steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee will regularly operate a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc. Employee will occasionally move about inside office space to access storage areas, cabinets, and office machinery. Local driving in support of work-related projects is necessary. Position will require occasional pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The essential responsibilities of this position are primarily performed indoors, including regular visits to ice hockey rinks, schools, community centers, and special event sites (indoor/outdoor in the weather conditions prevalent at the time). The noise level in these work environments can range from moderate to loud during events/programs, and is minimal during non-event/ program times. 
SCHEDULE:
Most work is completed during standard weekday hours. Regular night and/or weekend duties in the Greater Philadelphia area are required.
