Anticipated Hiring Salary: $25.24 - $26.35 hourly, depending upon qualifications and CBA
Full Position Range: $25.24 - $34.86

The Public Safety Communications Center is open 24/7, 365 days/year
Dispatchers must be available to cover all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Under the general guidance of the Public Safety Communications Director, the Public Safety Dispatchers are part of the Public Safety Communications Center. Our dedicated and highly trained professionals routinely offer life-saving medical instructions in addition to providing accurate public safety information.
The Public Safety Dispatchers are responsible for receiving and transmitting emergency and administrative messages to appropriate law enforcement, fire and medical personnel in the manner dictated by the state-mandated Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocol and department policy. The position requires the utmost discretion, independent judgment, initiative and must operate within established mandated state and departmental guidelines and procedures. The Public Safety Dispatchers receive, have access to, and must maintain confidential information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● High School Equivalency
● Excellent vision and hearing accuracy and ability to process verbal information/direction in
a concise manner
● Confidentiality, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated customer service skills
● One (1) to Three (3) years experience in emergency response communications or a
related field, preferred
● Considerable knowledge of street locations, buildings, and other significant areas of the
community in order to minimize response time, preferred
● E911, LEAPS, APCO Emergency Medical Dispatch, APCO PST1 certifications, preferred
