Position Overview
Cameo Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Federal Certified Polygraph Examiner to provide investigative support to the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG). This role is critical in supporting OIG Special Agents in a wide range of investigations, including internal crimes and frauds against the Postal Service. The Examiner will be responsible for conducting polygraph examinations, providing interview and interrogation support, and ensuring the highest standards of quality control and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities
- Polygraph Examinations: Conduct thorough and accurate polygraph examinations in support of OI investigations, adhering strictly to all OIG and NCCA (National Center for Credibility Assessment) standards.
- Analysis and Reporting: Review and analyze case-related documents. Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured reports, including Memorandums of Activity (MOA) and Memorandums of Interview (MOI), to document findings.
- Interview & Interrogation Support: Provide expert support in interviews and interrogations for witnesses, suspects, and victims, including Behavioral Analysis Interview (BAI) and statement analysis.
- Quality Control and Training: Perform Quality Control reviews for all OIG polygraph examinations. Provide mentorship and training to newly hired OIG polygraph examiners, monitoring performance and ensuring adherence to standards. Facilitate the maintenance of certification requirements for all examiners and assist with biennial Quality Assurance Program inspections.
- Testimony: Provide oral and written testimony as required for government or USPS OIG proceedings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of professional law enforcement experience.
- Certification: Must be a graduate of the basic polygraph course offered by the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) - or its prior designations as the Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA) or Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI). Must be certified as an active Federal polygraph examiner by an authorized Federal polygraph or credibility assessment program per respective agency and Federal standards and requirements.
- Specialized Experience: Demonstrated experience conducting criminal-specific polygraph examinations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to properly utilize major polygraph systems (e.g., Lafayette and/or Limestone) and accurately interpret and score polygraph charts utilizing NCCA-approved scoring methods.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret/Postal Sensitive or Top-Secret security clearance.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings in reports and testimony.
- Demonstrated ability to routinely gather key information from interviews/interrogations and present findings clearly.
- Proven ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel extensively and for extended periods as needed.
Conditions of Employment
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Security: Must successfully undergo a background investigation and maintain required security clearance .
- Travel: Extensive travel is required in support of nationwide investigations.
- Training: Must complete mandatory annual OIG-provided training (Sexual Harassment, No Fear Act, Security Awareness).
- Compliance: Must comply with the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1972 (38 U.S.C. 4211 and 4212)
