Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support our Finance & Accounting team.

The Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and Controller to support the overall accounting infrastructure. In addition, the role will support the maintenance and administration of the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is a highly visible role which will have significant room for advancement. 

 ***CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)***

Essential Functions:

  • Managing the operations function of the accounting department including month end closing, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.  Prepare analysis as required to ensure accuracy of month end closing.
  • Managing the general ledger account reconciliation procedures.
  • Managing the escheatment processes including all necessary reporting.
  • Managing the accounting function of the customer balance refund process.
  • Assist in preparing the securitization processes including daily settlements and monthly reporting.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including preparation of disclosures to the financial statements.
  • Responsible for managing the work of accounting staff and assisting in performance management.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • 2-3 years public accounting experience
  • 3-5 years management experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with P&Ls, balance sheets, & income statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, and advanced Excel).
  • Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
  • Prior banking or financial services experience a plus.
