 For over a decade, Whitecap Entertainment has set the stage for incredible performances and can’t-miss festivals, showcasing world-renowned talent while supporting an outstanding local arts scene. Throughout the year, we liven up the east coast with comedy, drag shows, dance parties, live musical performances, and engaging expos such as PEI Beer Festival and Cannabis East. In the summer, we produce the largest multi-day outdoor music festival in the region, Cavendish Beach Music Festival. This 3-day country music bash attracts over 60,000 visitors annually, with past headliners including Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, and Tyler Childers. In 2023, we launched Sommo Festival: a celebration of music, food, and drink which continues to attract phenomenal global talent in the music and culinary sphere.

Marketing Manager, Whitecap Entertainment

Whitecap has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our world-class team of professionals. We’re open to having our candidate doing a mix of remote work and in-person visits to our Charlottetown, PEI, head office, as well as on-site for all our major events. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to guide and support Whitecap Entertainment’s marketing business plan, strategy and communications.

As the Whitecap Marketing Manager, You Will

Onsite at Events:

  • Work onsite during Whitecap’s events, assisting with various on-site activities (e.g. signage, emcee scripting and relationship management, stage screen content)
  • Develop and manage fan communications (newsletters, app push notifications, stage screen content)
  • Oversee Influencer partnerships, provide positive onsite experience
  • Serve as the primary contact for artist marketing representatives regarding show marketing plans

Day-to-day:

  • Work with the Chief Marketing Officer to develop business plans, initiatives and branding strategies
  • Collaborate with Whitecap operational managers and various stakeholders to determine marketing needs, plan and execute marketing efforts
  • Manage Digital Campaigns (e.g. Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Analytics, Fan Management Tools, MailChimp, etc.) including managing Whitecap’s relationships with various partnerships
  • Oversee Website builds and changes, including copywriting, managing requests, coordinating flow, making recommendations, collaborating with vendors and partners (e.g. Web Developers)
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on marketing programs and promotions to assess results vs. desired outcomes reporting on web traffic, etc.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to provide post-show marketing analytics recaps as required
  • Manage customer databases (through various CRM software) and report on insights, engagement, growth and segmentation opportunities (e.g. Tradeable Bits, Mailchimp, Grandstand, Showpass, etc.)
  • Oversee and coordinate digital programmatic ad campaigns
  • Oversee Influencer partnerships including the identification of potential partnerships, negotiating contracts, coordinate scheduling, reporting, etc.
  • Coordinate Mobile App management including design, development, populate content, maximize onsite engagement, live push notifications, troubleshooting, reporting, etc.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Newsletters including copywriting, managing content, managing the ‘user journey’, etc.
  • Confirm and maintain proper sponsorship placements as needed across digital, website, social platforms
  • Provide creative direction for in-house graphic designers for digital projects (e.g. website builds/changes, digital campaigns, etc.)
  • Oversee third-party system integrations: ticketing platforms, payment processors for ecommerce stores, forms, embedded signups, etc.
  • Compile and share extensive audience and artist demographic information to shape the development of marketing plans
  • Identify and activate new strategic marketing partners to enhance artist and venue exposure in the community
  • Execute fan communication plans to ensure key information reaches guests before each event via email, social (working with in-house Social Media Manager), website, and app

What You Bring

  • Diploma/Degree in Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a marketing role
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, including website content and digital advertising (Coding/web development experience not necessary although considered an asset)
  • Demonstrated experience in creative and technical writing
  • Demonstrated experience using Fan Management Tools (e.g. Tradeable Bits) and Marketing platforms (e.g. MailChimp) considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience working in live events / entertainment industry considered an asset
