Medical Assistant (Employee Health)

 

Location: Baltimore, MD

Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay: $15-17/hour

Contract: Long-term temporary-to-hire; contracts of 13 weeks/ renewing (negotiable)

 

In this role you will be working alongside the Employee Health department to provide support to Hospital Staff employees.

 

Job Duties:

·         Coordinates the PPD Program; placing; readings; reports positive PPD readings to Director and provides Director with follow-up results.

·         Post Job Offer Assessment Screening; accurately takes vital signs; proper documentation of findings; documents Medical Assistant physical assessment findings.

·         Supports Workers Compensation Case Management Program; OSHA work logs.

·         Maintains paperwork flow; medical documentation filing for chart review; obtains medical authorizations; maintains employee medical records

·         Coordinates Immunization Program

·         Enters MA physical assessments into the employee medical records and PDS system.

·         Assist in upholding medical policies

·         Measuring/recording vital signs, collecting specimens and administering injections.

·         Administrative tasks include answering phones, maintaining physician schedules, ordering supplies, and performing other administrative duties.

 

Requirements:

·         Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Cerner, Health stream, Medical Equipment, Standard Office Equipment.

·         Knowledge and Practice with Medical Terminology

·         Basic computer skill

·         Critical Thinking Skills

·         Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.

·         Graduate of accredited practical nursing program or medical assistant curriculum or equivalent.

·         American Heart Association CPR Certification.
