Job Purpose


Work involves operating equipment and performing manual labor supporting the Trails and Streams crew in the construction, installation, and maintenance of trails and streams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Performs trail maintenance, which includes surface repair, trimming, brush chipping, drainage maintenance and installation

·         Assists with trail construction and installation of new trail surface

·         Patch trail and remains from washes outs

·         Assist with stream clearing/dam removal; clear river bank and remove river debris that may cause    obstruction

·         Address assigned work orders

·          Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience Required

 

Additional Information: Must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of employment.

 

Hours: May – August; Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week

 

Preferred Experience:  Experience in the operation of maintenance equipment preferred.

 

Special training or other license, certification,etc.:  Must have a valid Driver’s License. 

 

Skills In:  Identification of trees, shrubs, native grasses, wild flowers, and exotic weeds for horticulture aspects of preserve management; safe and proper operation and maintenance of a variety of grounds equipment; performing manual labor tasks; understanding and following verbal or written instructions; maintaining effective working relationships.
