Collateral Review Specialist


Position Summary


Responsible for Post Close Loan Review of unsecured, cash secured, titled, real estate, and UCC secured loans, as well as continuing, re-inscribing, and releasing collateral to ensure the bank’s lien position.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1.      Post Close Loan Review of conventional loans including: unsecured, cash secured, titled, real estate, and UCC loans booked on a daily basis.

  1. Adds and removes exceptions as needed while reviewing loans.
  2. Sends out Weekly Exception List.
  3. Monitors Collateral Release Dashboard and Daily Paid-Off Loan Log to release collateral in a timely manner.
  4. Continues and Re-inscribes collateral documents to ensure FGB’s lien position
  5. Monitors Life Insurance Policies and Stock Certificates taken as collateral.
  6. Interact with lenders and their assistants to provide exceptional customer service.
  7. Responsible for updating procedures of job duties as it pertains to related position.
  8. Be available as needed to cross train and perform additional tasks as assigned.

10.  Utilizes problem solving skills, external resources, and internal resources to resolve issues.

11.  May assist with special projects designated by Manager

12.  Escalates complex problems (i.e. production, system problems and/or collateral documentation issues) to Manager.

  1. Adheres to the BSA Policy and all other Bank Policies.
  2. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

·         Knowledge of consumer and commercial lending, real estate, loan documentation, lien documentation, as well as state and federal compliance and lending regulations

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work independently, efficiently and innovatively as part of a team

·         Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines

·         Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office

·         Minimum 1 year experience in loan operation or collateral documentation environment in a commercial bank or other financial institution is preferred
