Position Overview: The MBRT Next Generation Scholars (NGS) Program Support Intern plays a pivotal role in supporting various initiatives aimed at empowering Maryland high school students to explore career pathways and/or pursue and complete a college education. Under the guidance of the MBRT program team and supervision of the site MBRT NGS Specialist or Manager, the NGS Program Support Intern gains professional career experience and has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students across the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the coordination and implementation of MBRT student programs, with a focus on supporting activities such as End of Year Awards, Summer of Service, College Bootcamp, and Leadership Conference.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to promote program awareness and engagement among target student populations.
  • Support the planning and execution of program-related events, workshops, and networking sessions.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials and resources to support student participants.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with program stakeholders.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of MBRT student programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in creating digital content, including short videos and social media content, is preferred.

Position Requirement:

  • Must have successfully completed at least one year of college.
  • Prior experience in the MBRT NGS program preferred.

Reporting Structure: The MBRT NGS Program Support Intern reports to the NGS Specialist or Manager in their school district.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time, temporary, internship position, with the expectation of working 15 hours/week for twelve weeks, with flexibility as needed. This position requires at least one day on-site per week, to be spent with the supervising MBRT NGS Specialist or Manager.

Wage: $20.00 per hour

Benefits Summary:  As a temporary part-time employee, Interns are not eligible for benefits and holiday pay.
