The Eldorado Resort is currently accepting applications for a full-time Junior Resort Accountant. This position will assist the Senior Resort Accountant with the day to day, monthly and annual operations in the centralized accounting department that manages Manteo, Hotel Eldorado and Eldorado Marina.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Payable – Code, scan, post, update vendor accounts & review statements.
  • Accounts Receivable – Reconcile, invoice and address guest questions or concerns.
  • Cash – Reconcile daily cash receipts, distribute due backs to staff and resolve cash related variances.
  • Accounts Receivable – Reconcile, invoice and address guest questions or concerns.
  • Credit Card / Gift Card – Reconcile daily and address any variances. IT related Moneris issues.
  • Day Audit – Review and adjust as needed.  IT Related Opera PMS / Squirrel POS / Marinaware POS issues.
  • Inventories – Attend and review counts as required.
  • Payroll – Daily review of hours, semi-monthly processing.
  • Policy, Procedure and System – Implement, review and test.
  • Budgeting / Forecasting – Data compiling and analysis.
  • Projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Hospitality is required.
  • 1+ year's experience in an accounting position, ideally in hotel accounting.
  • Intermediate working knowledge in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of accounting, payroll, and credit card software is strongly preferred (PVNG, Payworks, & Moneris).
  • Knowledge of credit card/gift card processing and reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • A flexible and adaptable to change, can-do attitude is a must.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
