IQC Quality Technician
Director of Quality
The IQC Quality Technician is responsible for sampling
and inspection of the components, parts and sub-assemblies from suppliers to
determine its compliance to Photon Control and customer specifications /
The QAT works in close cooperation with the
multi-disciplinary team integrated by manufacturing, purchasing and engineering
to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction, product & service
quality and process performance and to identify opportunities for improvement
and mitigate risk.
Performs mechanical /
electrical part audit or inspection as per specifications.

Reports defects to the
Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Manager.
Contribute to the elaboration
of methods for inspection, testing and sampling
Assists in the Failure
Analysis of customer returns / issues.
quality problems and recommends changes or improvements.

Collaborate in the root
cause analysis of all non-conformances
Collect information for
the cost of quality, supplier performance and components/part quality and
propose opportunities for improvement or risk when possible.

Create and follow up
the supplier corrective actions
Promote the compliance
to copy exact and quality manual throughout the supplier base
Create and deliver the
component FAIR and dimensional reports and ensure is approved before components
are released for production.
Conduct an effective
and efficient incoming inspection to evaluation the components, sub-assemblies
or finish goods compliance to the specifications and requirements.
Identify the necessary
gages, inspection equipment, jigs or fixture required to properly evaluate the
components/sub-assemblies and to improve inspection standard times.
Provide feedback to the
engineering team to optimize the component/sub-assembly drawings
Performs other duties
Qualifications and Skills Required
Minimum a 3 years’
experience working as incoming quality or final quality in the manufacturing
environment, preferably under the copy exact requirements.
Poste secondary diploma
A degree in Engineering
(Mechanical preferred will be an asset.
Knowledge of lean
manufacturing and six sigma practices and methodologies, preferably in a
Knowledge of ISO 9001
and the proper implementation of industry practices in the manufacturing
Knowledge of root cause
analysis, corrective and preventive actions
Knowledge in auditing
program and techniques to surveillance product, process and special processes.
Knowledge of manufacturing
processes including fiber optics, surface finishing, optical parts, machining,
plating, injection molding, PCBA, electronic/semiconductor fabrication, etc.
of statistical analysis included SPC.
Knowledge to read
technical drawings/blueprints, specifications, bill of materials and CAD files.
Proficient in MS Office
software products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Experience using MRP
Experience leading a
team in multiple projects.
