Required Experience:
~ Minimum of 3 years daily sticking experience
~ Hospital or Mobile Phlebotomy experience preferred
~ ASCP Preferred

Shift – Full-time, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday and 3:00 PM to 11:30 every 1st Saturday of the month.
Rate of Pay - $15.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience.
SIGN ON BONUS - $2,600.00 Sign on Bonus Available.

On-Call – 1st Saturday of every month and must work no less than two (2) holidays per year.
Driving – This role requires the use of company vehicles, expect to drive a minimum of four (4) hours daily.

STAT Runner Summary of Position:
Receives direction from the dispatch team on needed workload making numerous runs per shift, collects specimens from patients at facilities, brings specimens back to lab to be processed and analyzed, identifies patients and properly labels specimens. Highest level of customer service and ability to answer phone calls, general stocking and housekeeping, and all other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

-      Is an excellent team player and provides fantastic customer service

-      Provides the highest level of patient care and compassion

-      Understands and follows all safety, infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines

-      Calls dispatch daily as leaving their home in the event there is a pick up or draw need on the way to the laboratory

-      Draws blood specimens from residents at facilities utilizing draw list or test requisition, brings specimens back to lab, processes, and delivers to Medical Technologists/Lab Assistants to analyze

-      Is an expert at hard sticks with little to no misses and/or rejections

-      Has excellent syringe technique with straight needle

-      Correctly identifies patient, properly labels specimens, and documents all specimens obtained on each patient’s log sheet in the lab book upon completion of collections

-      Complete assigned phlebotomy STAT runs to include STATs, missed sticks, or difficult venipunctures in less than four (4) hours from the time of call to result completion

-      Works at a fast pace with extreme accuracy

-      Calls facilities to clarify orders and answers calls from facilities with questions as needed

-      Check for requisitions and leave the client copy when requisitions are collected, as well as process paperwork, completing all documentation and STAT logs

-      Enter laboratory orders when clients fax or phone orders in to the lab and monitor lab voicemail messages to ensure all requests are documented and follow up phone calls are made

-      Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and good driving with current auto insurance

-      Understands the value of teamwork and takes an active role as a positive teammate

-      Assists when needed with paperwork collection for Route Phlebotomists

-      All other duties as assigned
