Social Media Intern (Marketing & Communications)

The National WWII Museum is seeking a Social Media Intern on its Marketing & Communications team to help maintain and grow the Museum’s social media presence and online audience engagement. The intern will report to the Director of Communications and will assist with planning, developing, and scheduling social media content as well as monitoring and replying to comments and messages.

The intern will have opportunities to assist with all aspects of the Museum’s social media marketing by collaborating with members of the team on the development of the editorial calendar, pitching creative ideas for social media posts, drafting and/or designing content, scheduling content, helping manage comments, and evaluating what content is performing best. This position will work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and gain experience using software such as Sprout Social, Later, Asana, and Canva.

The ideal candidate will be a college junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or history. Recent graduates in these fields will also be considered. Superior writing and editing skills are required as well as experience with social media platforms especially Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The position offers a 20-hour work week.
