Stewardship Minister
The Steward Minister is responsible to Brentwood Baptist Church, under the direction of the Senior Executive Pastor, for developing and leading a church-wide comprehensive stewardship plan which disciples the church body to live out true biblical stewardship in every aspect of their lives. This is accomplished through a variety of curricula, resources, ministry partnerships, and one-on-one support.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
● Oversee operation, functionality, and growth of the church-wide stewardship ministry.
● Be the champion for Biblical stewardship, identifying tools and resources that will communicate the principles of biblical stewardship as a part of our disciple-making process.
● Encourage and serve as a reference for campus pastors in teaching our members about biblical stewardship. Seek out new areas of need and develop resources to help meet them.
● Identify resources that teach principles of biblical stewardship and money management for church members who need help in stewardship-related life circumstances.
● When appropriate, serve as a confidential resource and coach for church members who need financial counseling, or mobilize volunteers to do so.
● Promote generosity and help identify legacy giving opportunities among the congregation.
● Plan, promote, and coordinate church-wide stewardship efforts.
● Develop partnerships with other ministries within the church that encourage members to view these areas through the lens of stewardship.
● Maintain a network of outside contacts in the community who can offer additional biblically based counseling or financial support services to church members beyond the scope of the ministry’s capabilities.
● Serve as a model and representative of biblical stewardship.
● Lead any volunteers or staff who serve within the ministry.
● Speak on stewardship issues and give ministry and event updates to church leadership and the church body as needed.
● Administer endowed funds through grants and scholarships awarded by the designated team.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
● Provide supervisory responsibilities for the administrative assistant assigned.
● Attend all required staff meetings and complete forms and reports in a timely and concise manner.
● Be available to serve the church as a decision counselor, pastoral counselor, on-call minister and on-site minister (as assigned). Perform weddings and funerals as available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A personal sense of
calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this
particular area of ministry.
● Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
● A mature Christian who demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading and prayer.
● A passion for seeing lives impacted through disciple-making and spiritual transformation.
● The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers.
● Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
● Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Possess the knowledge and experience to competently network with professional members of the financial, trust, and estate planning communities, for the purpose of effectively facilitating the donative intent of Brentwood Baptist Church members and to inform and educate the financial professional community regarding the Christian based community ministries of Brentwood Baptist Church throughout the middle Tennessee region.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
● Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university. A Master’s Degree from an accredited seminary is preferred.
● A minimum of five years’ experience on a staff with experience in leadership development.
All campuses function under the governance of Brentwood Baptist Church. Each campus is an established entity operating as a whole and permanent part of Brentwood Baptist. Each maintains pre-determined alignment
characteristics that uphold the Brentwood Baptist “DNA” while also containing some contextualized characteristics to allow it to best reach its target local community. Every staff member is an employee of Brentwood Baptist.
