Summary

Responsible for the overall operation of the Security Department including leading and directing the security department operations to ensure the safety of guests, employees and the physical assets of the complex. Leads and integrates company culture, purpose and values within responsible areas.  

                                   

Job Duties

Responsible for physical safety of natural persons, physical safeguarding of assets, protecting the property of patrons and the slot machine licensee from illegal activity.  Monitors performance of subordinates, ensuring adherence to casino policies and procedures. Ensures that all personnel are properly trained and maintain a high level of proficiency. Collaborates with Human Resources department regarding the implementation and enforcement for the issuance of temporary access credentials.  Responsible for the performance of duties required under the casino’s system of internal controls. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Security Dept.  Assists with Risk Management issues. Prepares a minimum staffing plan for the Security Department.  Maintains a strong working relationship with local and state law enforcement members.  Works closely with the Surveillance Department to prevent the loss of damage of company assets.  Ensures that all incidents and illegal activities are properly investigated, documented and that proper notification of same is made to the appropriate authorities and company executives.  Authorized to extend complimentary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix.

 

  • In collaboration with the Human Resources department, the design, implementation and enforcement of a system for the issuance of employee access badges.

  • The design, implementation and enforcement of a system for the issuance of temporary access credentials. 

  • The recording of any unusual incidents within the licensed facility in which the security department is involved.  Each incident shall be recorded by security department personnel in a book with bound numbered pages that cannot be readily removed or be maintained in an electronic format which has an audit function that prevents modification of information after the information has been entered into the system. The log shall be stored and retained in accordance with § 465a.6 (relating to retention, storage and destruction of books, records and documents). The following information shall be recorded:

1.      The assignment number of the incident.

2.      The date and time.

3.      The nature of the incident.

4.      The persons involved in the incident.

5.      The security department employees assigned to cover the incident.

  • The identification and removal of any person who is required to be excluded or ejected from the licensed facility under section 1514 of the act, who may be excluded or ejected from the licensed facility under section 1515 of the act or is self-excluded from the gaming floor and gaming activities at all licensed facilities under section 1516 of the act.

  • The performance of the duties and responsibilities required under the system of internal controls submitted and approved under § 465a.2.

  • The immediate notification to the Pennsylvania State Police upon detecting the presence in the licensed facility of a person possessing a deadly weapon in violation of § 465a.13 (relating to possession of weapons within a licensed facility).   Enforces the prohibition of individuals, including security department personnel, from possessing any deadly weapon as defined in 10 Pa.C.S. § 2301, stun gun or other device designed to injure or incapacitate a person within a licensed facility without the expressed written approval of the PGCB.

  • The immediate notification to supervisors designated in the internal controls and the PGCB’s casino compliance representatives and the Pennsylvania State Police at the licensed facility upon detecting of the following:

  1. any person who is engaging in or attempting to engage in, or who is suspected of cheating, theft, embezzlement, a violation of this part or other illegal activities.

2.  any person who is required to be excluded or ejected from the licensed facility under section 1514 or 1515 of the act and Chapter        511a or 513a or is self-excluded from the gaming floor and gaming activities at all licensed facilities under section 1516 of the act       and Chapter 503a.  Ensures proper investigations of injured persons on property.  Responsible for all criminal investigations (except       gaming issue violations).  Responsible for safeguarding all company assets. Reviews all Security Crime/Incident/Medical and Arrest            reports. Maintains and controls access to restricted Casino. Ensures compliance with all federal and state gaming regulations.           Performs other related duties as assigned

 


Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years related experience in Security/Law Enforcement and/or training in a high volume complex casino environment or equivalent. Strong organizational and leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence.  Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.  Must be able to be approved and maintain licensure as required by Pennsylvania Gaming Control BoardMust have thorough knowledge of approved Responsible Gambling Program. Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal and State Law, as well as Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Regulations.
