JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

The Financial Analyst I (Analytical) will assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.  Assist in the financial analysis of operations including financial and operating budgets and projections.  Assists in the examination of a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformity with established accounting and regulatory requirements.  Performs monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts.  Prepares, schedules, and assists with yearly audits.

 Must be skilled in analyzing and interpreting financial data.  Must prove an ability to apply knowledge of accounting and finance.  Must be highly proficient in Excel.

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•          Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
•          Assist with annual budgets and projections for the Board of Directors.
•          Answering various accounting questions from department heads, managers, supervisors, and directors.
•          Assist with the annual financial audit.
•          Prepare financial models, analyses, and reporting.
•          Performs all other assigned duties.

 EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

•          Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
•          Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in accounting.
•          Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
•          Familiarity with laws and regulations governing rural telephone company fiscal practices is a plus. 
•          Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
•          Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
