Reporting to the Director of Programs, Mental Health & Addictions,
Practitioner will have a unique opportunity in which you will have the autonomy
to adapt and grow the role as you see fit, in line with Phoenix's overall
strategy. This allows for personal and professional growth in an atmosphere of
trust, respect, and collaboration. As our Nurse Practitioner, you'll
participate in the recovery and capacity building of residents and alumni by
attending to their physical and mental health needs.
- Be responsible
and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients and clients
including diagnosing diseases, disorders and conditions.
- Monitoring and
documenting patient progress
treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and
prescribes medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards,
limits and conditions
- Collaborate with
clients and other health professionals
- Treating and
managing both acute and chronic illnesses as well as simple and complex health
- Ordering and
interpreting screening and diagnostic tests
- Developing a
therapeutic nurse patient relationship
direction, assignment, and assistance to LPNs and unregulated staff
Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or
Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of
Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Experience 2-4 years of recent, and relevant clinical nursing experience.
English: Fluent and able to effectively communicate professionally, orally and
written, in English.
Computer Skills: excellent
knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
Diversity: Fluency in language(s) reflecting the diversity of the community is
Criminal Records Check: Current clearance.
Driver’s License: Current required for
Tuberculosis Screen: Negative.
First Aid Certificate: Current certification
with CPR in Emergency First on the Scene
Medical Clearance: from physician for work in residential care
$50-55 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
37.5 hours weekly. Days
of the week can be flexible.
