Reservations Manager – Myrtle Beach Seaside Resorts

The Reservation Manager will participate in the development of business strategies for the Reservations Department which are aligned with the overall objectives of the hotel. The Reservation Manager will drive revenue through effective management of the reservation process. Those processes include improving agent lead conversion through coaching and managing staffing levels to optimally capture as many reservations as possible.

Responsibilities -

·         Develops and implements business strategies for department. I.e. effective scheduling, productive team, completion of daily tasks.

·         Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies as appropriate.

·         Meet or exceed departmental budget

·         Maintain above/significantly above customer satisfaction through the comment cards & quarterly reviews, as pertains to reservations.

·         Prepare accurate schedule according to call volume trends by hour, day, week

·         Retain employees through employee satisfaction

·         Monitor lost calls; maintain abandoned rate less than 4%

·         Work with Sales Coach to meet conversion goals

·         Assist Revenue Manager in maximizing the room revenue by utilizing yield management techniques and managing the operation of the Reservations Department.

·         Controls rate availability by blocking groups/wholesalers when appropriate

·         Communicates rate availability to reservation agents and front desk

·         Increases average rate by training staff in appropriate sales techniques on a regular basis

·         Schedules employees in accordance with forecasted call volume

·         Ensure staff is held accountable to documented goals and expectations by issuing verbal warning documented in file, up to two written warnings with plan of assistance then termination if required.

·         Provides Service Compliance Manager and employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential

Requirements -

·         High School graduate or equivalent and 1 to 2 years of hotel / Customer service experience preferred

·         Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·         Excellent telephone etiquette

·         Sales Skills

·         Public Relations skills

·         Experience with Payroll Control and Scheduling based on business needs

·         Experience with Budget Management

·         Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages

·         Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite

·         Organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
