Summary
We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to order supplies and equipment based on our company’s needs. Purchasing Assistant responsibilities include researching supply chain issues, tracking deliveries, and updating order records (e.g. dates, invoices and discounts.) If you’re familiar with supply chain procedures and know how to create and translate cost analyses, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will make cost-effective purchases and ensure we maintain a fully stocked inventory.

What You’ll Do

  • Purchase Order Management – Primary duties are to create, complete and maintain purchase orders within SAP – On time entry, seek approval, printing, email follow up, date maintenance
  • Interact with supplier team on a daily basis
  • Interact with Demand Planning team on a daily basis
  • Track the status of purchase orders
  • Oversee Shipping schedules – follow up on past due shipments, on-time shipping maintenance
  • Expedite out of stock and promo items as needed
  • Review deliveries against the purchase orders
  • Measure timeliness of deliveries
  • Runs open purchase order reports and identifies/corrects any potential issues and or problems.
  • Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods
  • Produce and maintain any necessary reports
  • Liaison with other departments, particularly accounting, manufacturing, warehouse and demand planning departments
  • Identify technology solutions to address any supply chain issues
  • Resolve receiving variances/PO variances and close PO’s as needed on a monthly basis
  • Approval of invoice payment at quantity and cost level
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Knowledge of market research
  • Solid organizational skills

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Hands-on experience with SAP software
