Director of Database Services

The National WWII Museum seeks a Director of Database Services to lead efforts to capture, organize, use, and analyze constituent data to achieve organizational and fundraising objectives. The Director will manage the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (RE) CRM and oversee the daily operation of the data system. The Director will be fluent in the Raiser’s Edge platform and responsible for maintaining the integrity of the database, tracking donor relationships and details of capital and programmatic commitments, event sponsorships, and annual giving. The Director is a full-time, exempt employee and has two direct reports, Database Manager and Research Manager. This employee will office on the Museum campus; this is not a remote position.


  • Applies critical thinking and analytical skills to maximize The National WWII Museum’s use of Raiser’s Edge (RE), working effectively with all users to enhance productivity and workflow efficiency.
  • Manages the Institutional Advancement RE Moves Management system to track actions and activities of gift officers as they move donor’s through the donor continuum toward annual and/or major gifts and planned gifts.
  • Drives major gift officer performance by developing custom dashboards, reports, and queries that quickly and routinely convey meaningful information such as next action or report due.
  • Based on analysis of donor data, helps to lead moves management strategy sessions among annual giving program staff and major gift/planned giving staff.
  • Partners with annual giving/membership team, major gift officers and planned giving officers to capture donor stewardship plans and schedule automated reminders within Raiser’s Edge.
  • Establishes and documents policies and procedures and implements and manages quality control measures related to the database system. Creates protocols for data entry, monitoring, and updating.
  • Provides support to marketing and communications on campaigns, segmentation and analytics for email, newsletters and other communication functions, including integration with social media activities.


  •  3-5 years of experience working with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
  • Prior experience in a complex non-profit organization; preferably regional/national in scale.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for Raiser's Edge and problem solving.
  • Highly organized with exceptional multi-tasking management skills.
