POSITION SUMMARY:
Assembles subcomponents and/or packs and stocks products. A wide variety of electrical and mechanical parts or materials and continued use of hand tools are required. Multiple and varied units and subassemblies are produced/packed/stocked in a work shift. Most work is performed when standing at a workstation, although when applicable, some job duties can be done when sitting on a stool.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (The manufacturing associate will perform some or all of the following essential job duties. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.)

Assemble components and/or Pack product using hand tools and a large variety of various size parts. Repetitive movement is required.

Stock components or finished product as needed. In some positions, the use of a fork-lift may be required.

Read and follow Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and ensure work is performed accordingly.

Perform basic electrical wiring by connecting components according to SWI and engineering drawings.

Inspect and or test incoming materials, work in progress components and final units to ensure product meets requirements.

Perform repairs and or rework of work in process or returned assemblies or packed product as needed.

Record and or maintain product testing results, component or unit serial numbers or other information as requested.

Comply with all safety procedures.

Assist other associate’s and or departments as requested to meet business requirements.

Learn and practice the company’s Foundations.

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
-
Prior experience and demonstrated proficiency using hand tools.
-
Ability to read and understand SWI, manufacturing schematics and follow standard manufacturing operating protocols.

Ability to learn and perform basic electrical assembly work.
-
Must demonstrate acceptable attendance, cooperation and willingness to receive training
-
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
-
Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work overtime as requested.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
-
Prior Electronic or mechanical manufacturing assembly experience preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency in using small hand tools such as: drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. is required.

Ability to read and understand manufacturing schematics desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY ON A REGULAR BASIS:
-
Upper extremity and manual dexterity sufficient for constant use of a variety hand tools and picking up and assembly of small parts.

Speech and hearing sufficient to safely work in a manufacturing setting; receive and understand verbal directions, respond to auditory cues.

Vision sufficient to read manufacturing drawings and other assembly instructions, distinguish between different parts and components, perform manual assembly of manufacturing units.

Ability to independently lift assembled components or parts up to a maximum of 20 Lbs on a frequent basis, on a limited basis may be required to independently lift up to 60 pounds, frequently lift materials or parts weighing 5 Lbs or less. Mechanical and other staff assistance with the limited lifting of larger/heavier parts is available.

Full range of motion sufficient for moving throughout the production area, selecting and assembling packaged materials, bending and stretching for viewing product at different heights and angles.

May be required to climb onto or off of the ladder or step stool to reach materials or work on large scale units.

Ability to stand at a work area for the workday. May use a stool for some work.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to temperature changes, heat, noise, odors, moving equipment. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required for certain operations and in certain locations.
