Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC is seeking a motivated Full Time Tax Associate for our Johnson City office with experience in federal and state taxes, payroll and accounting. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Demonstrates a commitment to preparing a high quality product with timely preparation, aware of deadlines

·         Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental principles of tax law and standardized tax preparation procedures 

·         Provide Accounting related Consulting Services to clients

·         Communicate with Co-Workers, Management, Clients & Others in a courteous and professional manner

·         Conform with and abide by all Firm, Federal & State Regulations, Policies, Work Procedures & Instructions

·         Demonstrate an understanding of simple financial statements and general accounting

·         Exhibit an understanding and proficiency in multiple levels of tax reporting, i.e. (sales, payroll, business, etc.)

·         Exhibit an understanding of the various software utilized in the Tax Department

·         Ability to prepare a complete and organized work paper file

Education and Experience Required:

·         At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

·         1-2 years Tax experience, preferably in public accounting
