Pizza Ranch started as a single location in Hull, Iowa in 1981 and has grown into a fast-casual restaurant franchise with over 200 locations across multiple states.
Our unique concepts specialize in pizza, chicken, salad and dessert buffet, as well as delivery and takeout. What makes Pizza Ranch unique is that many of our locations offer a variety of dining experiences all under one roof.

Position Summary
The Back of House Prep Team Member plays an important role in helping our kitchen run smoothly and efficiently. This position focuses on food preparation and kitchen support for our buffet, salad bar, pizzas, chicken, desserts, and other menu items. Prep Team Members help ensure ingredients are fresh, organized, stocked, and ready for service while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the kitchen.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, staying organized, and helping create a legendary guest experience through quality food preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for pizzas, salad bar, chicken, desserts, and other menu items
- Wash, cut, portion, stock, and organize food products for daily use
- Assist with salad bar and buffet preparation and restocking
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, prep area, cooler, freezer, and storage areas
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties as needed
- Support kitchen operations during busy meal periods
- Work alongside team members to ensure smooth kitchen flow and preparation for service
- Maintain a positive attitude and work environment while supporting the team
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- Ability to be mobile and on your feet for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, wipe, sweep, and mop
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable and willing to learn
- Restaurant or kitchen prep experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to follow recipes, prep instructions, and food safety procedures
- Desire to provide quality food and support a legendary guest experience
