The Opportunity
MHG Hotels has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Reservation and Revenue Manager. Reporting to the Director, Hotel Sales, the Reservation & Revenue Manager is responsible to maximize hotel revenue by analyzing relevant data, developing and implementing effective revenue management programs, reports, and strategies. This role will be highly collaborative, working closely with the Director of Sales, the Chief Hotel Officer, Hotel Management and various other MHG leaders and departments.
As Reservation & Revenue Manager, You Will
- Participate in the development of business strategies for maximizing revenues which are aligned with the overall objectives of all 4 hotels, monitor those strategies and adjust as appropriate
- Develop and implement business strategies for Rooms, Food & Beverage and Spa services
- Develop and implement strategies for Reservations that support achievement of the hotel’s Revenue and Guest Satisfaction goals
- Maximizes room revenue by utilizing revenue management techniques
- Analyze competition for each market segment, yield from each type of business and results from distribution channels
- Recommends pricing, market segment and distribution strategies to Hotel General Managers and DOS
- Develop guidelines for booking business which maximize the yield received from each type of business; develop and implement processes and guidelines for managing the hotel’s inventory and pricing strategies
- Partner with Sales team to determine how to best to utilize special promotions
- Communicate rate and space availability to the hotel sales team and Front Desk Agents
- Prepare and distributes accurate forecasts; monitors revenue and yield management and takes corrective actions to improve results
- Trains staff in revenue management and sales techniques
- Manages the operation of the Reservations Department in accordance with forecasted business
- Resolves issues by working with vendor to identify and implement solutions
- Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
- Continuous analysis of changing channel distribution models and the impact on consumer booking trends
- Optimizes hotel’s and corporate pricing strategies through definition and management of BAR levels, stay restrictions and other tactics, which are congruent with demand factors and which are managed through all distribution channels
- Maintain rates which promote integrity and which protect the relationships with long term customers
- Work with General Managers, DOS and Marketing Team to determine effective and engaging rate offers (packages) which are then offered to the right customer in the right channel
- Monitors transient, group and tour booking pace to determine pricing and availability controls for all reservation distribution sources and discusses and implements changes in distribution plan accordingly
- Ensure that appropriate overrides are in place and special events are accurately loaded in the system
- Determine unconstrained demand and maintains the data within the Demand Analysis strategies, both future and historical
- Work with Director of Sales and Marketing Team members to encourage strategic selection of the right piece of business, in keeping with Hotel’s guidelines
- Play an active role in the Strategic Planning, Marketing Plan and budgeting processes
- Chairs and prepares materials for the weekly Revenue Management Meetings of each Hotel
- Work closely with F&B Manager and Spa Manager to Maximize Meeting space and SPA Treatment Rooms
- Work with GMs, F&B Managers, DOS and Marketing Teams to prepare and circulate Banquet Packages, Menus, Set ups and Prices.
- To ensure that no press releases or public statements are made without the prior consent of the Chief Hotel Officer (Hotel Division) & Chief Executive Officer (MHG)

What You Bring
- Diploma or a Degree in Business or Hotel Management (Hospitality) is preferred
- 3 to 5 years in a Hotel sales or Hotel Management is preferred
