About Working on a “Floatel”
LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650 passenger “Floatel”. The Floatel will be permanently docked in Squamish, B.C. and is estimated to operate for up to three years. All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
Individuals who do not have the required marine safety certifications (see details below) will be required to attend a 5 – 10-day marine safety program. LandSea covers the costs of training, however, crew who do not complete minimum employment contracts are responsible to repay part of all the training costs.
Staff are provided with accommodation, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities. We have both long-term and short-term contacts. Shift schedules are between 10-12 hours (day or night) and are typically 20 days (about 3 weeks) on and 10 days (about 1 and a half weeks) off, depending on the location. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from camp locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months.
About the Opportunity
The Inventory Supervisor oversees and supervises all aspects relating to the Inventory Department, stores, replenishment, and support staff, ensuring efficient operations and results. The Inventory Supervisor reports to the Hospitality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare all order requests for store items; follow up on orders to make sure they are prepared in time and submitted to the Purchasing Department correctly and in a timely manner; crosscheck daily department requisitions to ensure all data is correctly entered into the inventory system
Coordinate the physical receipt and handling of goods on loading days by arranging adequate staff to support the Provisions Department and ensuring that products are distributed and stored correctly and in a timely manner
Oversee all equipment receiving procedures;
Crosscheck invoices and actual deliveries, in coordination with respective Department Heads, to ensure that the correct items are delivered
Review all equipment being used in the Vessel Stores and report non-functioning equipment to Head Office of Hospitality Manager
Implement and follow up on correct Stock Rotation Procedures and ensure that first-in-first-out (FIFO) regulations are in place
Review onboard stock levels of Food and Beverage (F&B) and vessel supplies to ensure that minimum stock levels are kept onboard
Work closely with Department Heads to ensure that all products required for operation are always onboard and that products are being used accordingly;
Assist all Department Heads with preparing future orders, if necessary, and provide regular updates on budgets, future orders and stock holdings, etc.
Provide a short financial overview and forecast to the Vessel Hospitality Manager, when orders are being sent for approval
Inform the Vessel Hospitality Manager and relevant Department Heads of slow and non-moving items in the Vessel Stores, and make suggestions to use these items
Provide guidance to the Vessel Store team as needed in accordance with LandSea standards and operational needs
Positively contribute to achieving/succeeding Inventory KPI goals (quality and financial) for the Inventory Department
Have full knowledge of the health, safety and security, fire prevention and evacuation policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
A required minimum of 2-3 years completed (preferably onboard a ship) as an Inventory Supervisor/Manager, Stores Supervisor or Provision Supervisor
Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, accommodation services, consumables, uniforms, chemicals, and equipment are required
Must have experience in a storeroom operation including successful identification of expense reduction through cost control, waste management, and spoilage/breakage control
Fluent in English – must be able to address any kind of information n a n adequate manner with excellent oral, written and computer communication skills
Must have experience in material management systems, experience using inventory management systems an asset
Strong administration skills and must be proficient in PC based databases, spread sheets, and word processing systems
Flexible, stress resistant, committed team player
Guest focused, service-orientated, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards are required, with excellent knowledge of Public Health Policies

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time

Domestic Vessel Safety Certification
Passenger Safety Management Certification
Three (3) years' relevant experience preferred.
Marine First Aid an asset
Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice;
