Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A

Coconut is looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to expand our FP&A function and take it to the next level. After a year of tremendous growth and completion of our Series B funding, we are gearing up to scale even faster and are looking to add someone to our team to help guide the business with advanced modeling and financial analysis. 

Working closely with the FP&A Manager, this position supports Coconut’s FP&A function and is responsible for supporting Coconut’s financial models and planning processes. This role partners with other teams across the company, delivering value-added business analysis and meaningful financial reports to help propel revenue growth, reduce costs, and encourage more insightful and accurate business decisions.

You Are Fired Up To: 

  • Maintain documentation of performance metrics to support dashboards and reporting
  • Maintain and design management reports to meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the team to obtain an accurate forecast and provide a regular update to budget tracking to the management team
  • Ensure the accuracy and classification of month end results to appropriate cost and revenue centres
  • Assist in analyzing trends in revenue streams, products and ARR
  • Maintain and assist in updating financial models to support scenario planning
  • Support in expansion of enterprise financial planning tools (Jirav), dashboards, and department reports
  • Support in the annual budget process for the organization including compiling detailed cost budgets for various departments
  • Assist the FP&A Manager and Chief Financial Officer on special projects such as fundraising, M&A, and other ad-hoc initiatives
  • Collaborate with the broader Finance team on various areas including financial reporting, funding applications, and preparation of presentation decks

What you bring to the team: 

  • 5-7 years experience in a Finance role, including an FP&A or similar capacity
  • Completion of a professional financial designation (i.e. CPA)
  • Strong knowledge in Excel and proficiency with G-Suite tools. SalesForce experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Effective writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple & easy-to-understand way
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in an autonomous work environment
  • Intellectual curiosity to think about data critically and partner with other data stakeholders to continuously improve data quality and analysis
  • FP&A experience with a SaaS company or other subscription-based business model considered an asset
  • Prior experience in a startup environment considered an asset
