Culinary Apprenticeship Program
LandSea is pleased to offer culinary apprenticeship programs for students currently enrolled in culinary programs. LandSea provides culinary and hospitality services at remote workforce camps. This is an opportunity to get your educational hours, gain valuable work experience, and find out what it's like to work in the remote camp world.
LandSea's Apprentice opportunities are overseen by Red Seal Chefs and may be designed to meet the student's educational requirements. Students typically stay and work at camp and receive time off for educational requirements.
Students may choose to work and stay at camp during the program. Typical shifts are between 8 - 12 hours and shift rotations can be M-F (depending on the location of the camp) or longer (typically a 20:10 rotation which means you work for 20 days and then get 10 days off).
Pre-enrollment Requirements:
- You are a current student in a certified culinary program
- Completion of Apprentice Registration Form
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification
- Drug and Alcohol Clearance (LandSea will book this, and this is a Health and Safety requirement at all camps)
- Completion of site specific and LandSea Orientations (LandSea will assign all online training, and this must be completed before start of program
- you have government issued identification for travel to and from camp (LandSea will assist with travel arrangements to and from camp)
- You are physically and mentally able to perform the duties outlined in the work practicum or coop program
