Customer Service Representative

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative will report to the Operations Improvement Manager and will be based out of Emterra’s Mississauga, Ontario location. The role primarily provides daily administrative, technology and audio/visual customer service support. As a key contact person between the operation’s control and its various stakeholders this individual needs to be a positive reflection of the organization and its values.

The Customer Service Representatives will be responsible for:

  • Communicating with residents and city representatives in line with contract requirements
  • Providing additional dispatch support to collections personnel via phone or 2-way radio
  • Managing customer inquiries with courteous, professional phone, chat, and email etiquette
  • Booking requests from residents or ICI customers
  • Reporting data for scheduled commercial customers
  • Assisting Route Supervisor customer service enquiries as required
  • Investigating and assisting in the resolution of collection issues
  • Escalating collection-related concerns to the Operations Improvement Manager as needed
  • All other duties as may be assigned

 Qualifications for the Customer Service Representative role include, but are not limited to

  • Completion of Secondary School (or GED equivalent)
  • Experience with Dispatching or CRM system is an asset
  • Experience in the waste management and recycling industry an asset
  • Strong computer skills (particularly in the use of MS Office)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Working well under pressure and within strict timelines in a fast-paced environment
