We are hiring an Operations Specialist that will be a jack of all trades in coordinating all the moving parts of ArtsQuest and 3rd party events – set up, breakdown, inventory management, equipment operation, training event staff, you name it. Above all, you’ll use hands-on customer service and problem-solving skills to ensure that our events run smoothly and continue to be the best in the Lehigh Valley!

 

What you’ll do

As our Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting management through all phases of event operations and leading our part-time event staff. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks in the following areas:

  • Act as Operations Lead for AQ and 3rd party events, working alongside our Hospitality and Programming Departments to interact with clients, document processes, and curate layouts
  • Execute day of operational support during Musikfest, Oktoberfest, and Christkindlmarkt
  • Train and lead part-time staff throughout event/festival set-up and breakdown
  • Assist with room set-ups at the ArtsQuest Center, Visitor Center, and Banana Factory
  • Communicate effectively with various departments for questions, requests, and coordination of activities
  • Operate ArtsQuest equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, and shop equipment
  • Inventory oversight of operational assets including managing inventory log, tracking of assets and capital purchases, and maintaining clean, organized warehouse/storage spaces

 

What you need to thrive in this role

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or higher in related field a plus
  • 1+ years of prior work experience in an operations support role.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, along with the ability to travel to various building locations using reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills in interacting professionally with different levels of staff and guests; Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a plus. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds frequently with or without reasonable assistance, and work in all weather conditions to support our festivals and events
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and overnights on an as needed basis
