Course Instructor – Ward Clerk Micro-Credential Program

Micro-courses offer a unique learning experience with their bite-sized format, making them flexible and accessible for students to enhance their knowledge and expertise in a convenient, self-paced manner.
We are currently seeking an instructor to facilitate the Ward Clerk Micro-Credential Program. This program is specifically designed in collaboration with IERHA to deliver a specialized Ward Clerk training program. This curriculum features a series of stackable modules designed to provide flexible, comprehensive training tailored to IERHA’s operational needs for Ward Clerks.
Role Overview
The instructor is responsible for delivering course content dynamically and engagingly; implementing and grading assignments/projects; and actively implementing the course curriculum. As an instructor, you will observe and adhere to all company policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Share industry-related knowledge, expertise, and passion with the students; develop and maintain a supportive learning community.
Deliver course content via Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System (LMS) that meets course and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.
Evaluate student performance fairly, promptly and consistently; provide feedback and post grades promptly.
Collaborate with other teams (Micro-course team, Workforce Team, etc.) to contribute positively to the student experience
Act in a manner that upholds the professional expectations and standards of Robertson College.
Maintain an online presence in the Brightspace LMS by engaging and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning.
Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and complete grading on coursework within 48 hours.
MASTERY OF SUBJECT MATTER
Stay informed about changes and innovations in the Health Unit/Clerk field
Adopt “best practices” employed by other mentors, and share “best practices” with others.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Health Unit Clerk program with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Unit Clerk/Ward Clerk role or
Successful completion of a diploma or degree related to Nursing with evidence of a deep understanding of the Unit Clerk/Ward Clerk role.
Experience delivering training to adults for professional or educational purposes.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (D2L preferred).

LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK
This position is fully remote.
The hours of work can vary based on enrollment levels and academic support
learners may seek as micro-courses are completed in a self-paced manner. Instructors can expect to spend 5 to 10 hours per week instructing the course, depending on students' enrollment numbers.
