We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced and
entrepreneurial individual to join our team as an Intermediate Geotechnial
Engineer (P.Eng.) based out of our office in Calgary, Alberta.
primary role will be to deliver geotechnical and environmental engineering projects
under the guidance of Professional Engineers. This position is responsible for
using standard engineering methods and techniques in carrying out technical
tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to
prescribed testing analysis, design or computational methods. Preference will be given to candidates with
experience in pipeline construction.

investigate, analyze, report and provide recommendations on a number of
exciting projects. Terracon Engineers take ownership over project execution and
financial performance. This includes the
prudent monitoring and evaluation of project milestones and costs. They must develop a rapport with new and
existing clients by effectively communicating the superior service and results
that our teams provide.
This position has a combination work schedule of rotational shifts (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off), and in office work based in Calgary, AB. Additional travel may be required to other project sites in Alberta and Western Canada.
You’ll be Doing
- Planning, participating in, and
managing geotechnical projects including coordination, preparation of cost
estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports,
monitoring project progress, project scheduling/resourcing and meeting
deadlines and budgets.
- Providing technical support for
- Preparation of technical and
- Training and mentoring junior
- Assistance with the development
and compliance of QA/QC policies for technical work (field, lab).
- Preparation of technical reports
and engineering calculations. Capable of using geotechnical engineering
software (A-Pile, Group-Pile, GeoStudio, etc.).
- Experience with pipeline
construction is an asset.
- Help build and strengthen client
- Experience working with gINT, AutoCAD
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological
Engineering or Applied Science
- 4-5 years’ experience; construction pipeline experience
is considered an asset
- Must be registered with APEGA (EGBC is considered an asset)
- Excellent English written and verbal communication
- Able to write and speak
compellingly on both technical and non-technical topics
license with experience driving in resource development and construction
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while focusing
on multiple projects
time management skills and prioritizing ability
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- Ability to foster and help build client relationships
- Must have demonstrated a strong commitment to safety,
for themselves and their co-workers
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, gINT and
AutoCAD Civil 3D required
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Project, GeoStudio and
Lpile an asset
- This is a safety-sensitive
- Driving long
distances may be required
outdoors in extreme winter and summer temperatures and conditions
- Up to a maximum
of 50lbs of heavy lifting is required
schedule including days and night shifts.

require being on-call

involve 12-hour shifts
- Travel to other project sites in Alberta and Western Canada
