Position Description
Department: Health and Wellness
Reports to: Manager, Seniors & Community Wellness Programs
Hours of Work: 0-14 hours a week
Start Date: TBD

Location: Hamilton, ON
- Leads a variety of group fitness classes/ Aquafitness classes for offsite programs (Fit@Home and Community Aquatic Programs);
- Ensures all members/clients are treated in a friendly and professional manner;
- Maintains accurate records, statistics and produces reports upon request;
- Maintains appropriate record-keeping in accordance with YWCA Hamilton’s policies and procedures, and confidentiality/privacy policies;
- Identifies and evaluates risks associated with members/clients and takes appropriate action to control the risks;
- Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships;
- Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
- Ensures compliance with YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures;
- Works safely, reports all workplace hazards and follows all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures; Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
- Perform other duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works schedule 0-14 hour work week;
- Work schedule includes days, mornings, afternoons, and evenings
Qualifications
- High School diploma – 18 years or older;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience delivering Aquafitness classes and/or leading group fitness is an asset;
- Ontario Fitness Council (OFC) Group Fitness Leadership Certification is an asset;
- CALA/ WaterArt Aquafitness certification or willing to obtain at own cost;
- Must be able to work from a feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive perspective;
- Ability to work a schedule which includes days, mornings, afternoons, and evenings;
- Must provide a current Criminal Record Judicial Matters Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Ability to travel to other locations in Hamilton;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset
