Primary Parent
The Primary Parent is responsible twenty-four hours a day, 365 days per year, to provide for the safety and welfare of the children assigned to their home. The Primary Parent provides a family style environment for the children. This position is Full-time (Paradise location). *Sign on Bonus Available*
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES: At least 21 years of age. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to others. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals. Ability to maintain documentation relating to expenses and purchases. Ability to maintain and reconcile a checkbook with a bank statement. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to prioritize tasks in a manner which prioritizes and ensures that tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner. Must be able to successfully complete an intensive pre-service training workshop including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, medication management and de-escalation training. Ability to attain acceptable score levels and apply information given in required training sequences. Primary Parent must communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator, being open to in-home visitations, feedback, and critique of the home environment. Must have a current Pennsylvania driver’s license. Individual must be insurable by Christ’s Home insurance carrier. Ability to maintain and apply required annual certification. Primary Parents must have proper clearances (FBI, State and Child Abuse clearances) as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for employment with children. Primary Parents must be able to pass their bi-annual health certification and maintain approved clearances as required by the Department of Public Welfare, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
