Event Operations Manager

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an Event Operations Manager.  Reporting to the Director of Event Operations, this position is responsible for assisting to produce events as assigned after the events have been contracted and sold by the Museum’s sales team.  The Event Operations Manager also provides administrative support to the Vice President of Guest Experiences.


  • Coordinates rental activities in the Museum including communication among staff, vendors, and customer.
  • Serves as the primary contact for the client during the pre-planning and operation of the client’s program post-sale and ensures the expectations of the client are exceeded to promote client satisfaction and account retention.
  • Manages program changes, negotiating, and up-selling.
  • Ensures deposits for program have been received as contracted and billing is completed.
  • Manages program summaries, deposit invoices, service agreements, and related correspondence.
  • Cultivates ongoing relationships with professionals in the hospitality, travel, and convention industry in local, regional, and national markets.
  • Uses and becomes proficient on the Rentals Department IT systems including the Museum’s Outlook events calendar, Caterease, VIPER, Social Tables and Microsoft Office.
  • Provides staff support to the VP of Guest Experiences for the Sales / Hotel / Centerplate meetings; provides overall administrative support to the VP.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality related field with a minimum of two years’ demonstrated success in sales and marketing, preferably in the hospitality, travel, or conference industry or equivalent number of years in a related field.
  • Experience with catering and special events coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Caterease, Excel, and Social Tables preferred.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that goes beyond a 40-hour week including weekends, holidays, and evenings at times.
