Schedule: Monday–Friday (Shifts between 6:30 AM – 5:15 PM)
Weekend Work: Occasional (Required Trainings)

St. Lucy Day Care & Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of young children.

The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, patient, organized, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment rooted in care and respect.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum

• Maintain a structured, clean, and organized classroom environment

• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff

• Monitor and support children’s daily needs, including hygiene, meals, and transitions

• Track and document student progress using Teaching Strategies (for CCAP students)

• Communicate regularly with parents, including sharing student work and updates

• Ensure classroom materials, toys, and equipment are cleaned and maintained

• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being

• Complete daily rosters and ensure proper sign-in/out procedures

• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and center events

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Experience in early childhood education (daycare, Head Start, or school setting preferred)

• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred

• CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and Safe Environment training

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills

• Ability to engage young learners through creative and age-appropriate activities

• Patient, attentive, and nurturing demeanor

• Strong communication skills with both children and adults

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and interacting at child's level

• Ability to respond quickly to children’s needs and classroom situations
