Control Room Supervisor

Medallion Pipeline is one of the fastest growing pipeline companies in the Permian Basin area. We are currently seeking a Control Room Supervisor to work in our Garden City Pipeline control room.  This position will be responsible for the monitoring and overseeing of personnel controlling the movement of material through pipelines by remotely starting/stopping pumps and operating valves, analyzing changing conditions and alarms and making necessary adjustments, monitoring pipeline integrity and coordinating pipeline maintenance, monitoring tank storage levels, maintaining communication with field personnel, customers, and suppliers to maximize efficiency, safety, quality, and customer service. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Provide oversight and guidance to Control Room Operators & their schedules

·         Development of Implementation of Operating Procedures

·         Implementation of Control Room and Fatigue Management Plans

·         Ensure compliance with all PHMSA control room requirement

·         Reporting and Tracking

·         Assist with Day to Day Operations of the System

·         Ensure OQ training and documentation for controllers and operators

·         Ensure controller meet and maintain OQ

·         Able to maintain shift workers schedules and ensure 100% coverage all of the time.

·         Initiates pump and delivery schedule changes, monitors tank inventories, meter counts, line pressures and temperatures

·         Responsible for identifying operational problems and to dispatch field personnel to problem areas in the pipeline system

·         Utilizes continuous discretion to initiate changes of pump and delivery schedules to maintain overall delivery schedule, product quality, safe operating conditions and a cost-efficient operation

·         Responsible for monitoring tank inventories and for the appropriate handling of shippers’ products both into and out of attended and unattended storage facilities 

Knowledge and Skills:

·         5-10 years of relevant industry specific and control center experience, pipeline operations, knowledge of pipeline assets, SCADA systems, leak detection systems, supervisory experience, knowledge and understanding of 49 CFR 195.446 CRM

·         Associate degree, preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience

·         Proven analytical and judgment skills; extremely detail oriented; high level of communication and interpersonal skills

  • Understands typical drawings and other documentation related to pipeline facilities, including process flow diagrams, pipeline alignment sheets, and other related documentation.

·         Must be an independent thinker with the ability to make sound, logical decisions.

·         Good computer skills

·         Must have mathematical skills pursuant to high levels of accuracy

·         High level of computer-controlled production and/or computer process control experience

Physical Demands:

·         Works both indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment with temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment

·         Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs

·         Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.  Must be able to bend, stoop, and move from ground level to higher levels

·         Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

·         Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads
